I started my career as apprentice ship mechanic with Hamburg-SÜD in 1990.
After studying ship operation technology and ship operation in Flensburg, Germany CIW/AGW, I worked for two years as a combined nautical and technical officer at sea.
In 1999 I started as a superintendent in the oil and chemical tanker business.
A new field of experience started in 2001 supporting one of the first 5MW offshore wind turbines with aerodyn Energiesysteme. In the following years I was gaining strong technical and management experience in wind energy from the design perspective.
At the beginning of 2007 the sea called again with worldwide container service and supervising new-building completion and handover at Korean shipyards as officer and captain.
I was appointed maritime pilot for the Kiel Kanal and east coast of northern Germany in 2014.
In all the years at sea and as a pilot I never quit supporting new wind turbine developments with feasibility studies and offshore know how.
